We had one of the busiest Spring plant mail order seasons on record with the added delight of launching a brand new plant variety this June. Dianthus Heaven Scent bred by us here on our Sussex nursery was launched at this years Chichester Festival of Flowers, this special event is held in the atmospheric Cathedral every other year and is renowned for its innovation and introduction of new varieties of plants and flowers.
This Spring also saw us rent out our retail shop area to a budding young family firm ‘Garden Sage’, owners Ed & Josie have taken over this area on our retail nursery so David & I can focus solely on our mail order which has increased greatly over the last couple of years alongside our other commitments (the children!) and we warmly welcome them. Of other news the new coffee shop is under construction as we speak and we wait eagerly for it to be open, though our waistlines might be in trouble with all the sweet temptations!! And if you are looking for a landscaping firm, garden designers ‘Inspired Gardens’ are well worth getting in contact with, their office is also located on our nursery.
We were once again invited to exhibit at Sandringham Flower Show, in July, in the Royal Marquee, this is purely by invitation only, an honour indeed and we proudly won Gold! Our eldest son, Edward also got to meet and talk to HRH Prince Charles and Camilla, that’ll be something to tell his friends about at school.
Flowers from the Flower Shed continue to delight, and this time of year sees an abundance of Anniversary celebrations and what better way to mark the occasion than with a bunch of beautiful, long lasting flowers.
